"I also do not tolerate anyone who disrupts security, which will disrupt the democratic process and the unity of our beloved country, especially rioters," President Jokowi said at the Merdeka Palace here on Wednesday.
He also said the government would not provide space for rioters who would damage the Republic of Indonesia.
"There is no choice, the TNI (the Indonesian military) and Polri (state police) will take firm action, in accordance with prevailing laws," he said in the company of Vice President M. Jusuf Kalla and a number of ministers and officials of ministerial level.
At the beginning of his press conference, Jokowi noted that the election was an important activity in the long journey of the Indonesian state.
He added that as the head of state and the head of government, he has an obligation to maintain political and security stability.
"And under our constitution, all disputes and electoral disputes are brought to the Constitutional Court," he said.
Jokowi praised Prabowo-Sandi's steps, which had brought the dispute to the Constitutional Court. "I also believe that the judges in the Constitutional Court will decide according to the facts, and based on the facts," he said.
Jokowi also mentioned that this period of Ramadan is full of blessings, and is a month full of forgiveness and love for all who show mutual respect.
"And our obligation as Muslims is to increase good deeds and to do good things," he said.
Jokowi also said that the situation was under control, and the community did not need to worry.
"I invite all to knit back together our unity, knit back together our brotherhood and our harmony, because Indonesia is our home together," he said.
