Jakarta (ANTARA) -

South Sumatra LRT will add six trips, increasing to 58 trips daily, until 20.32 WIB starting June 7, 2019.

"As a commitment to providing the best service for the community and answering the need for mass transportation that is free of traffic jams, and comfortable with affordable prices starting June 7, 2019 South Sumatra LRT is adding six trips," said PT KAI Divre III Palembang Public Relations Manager Aida Suryanti in a written statement in Jakarta Monday.

The time of the first LRT train begins at 04.48 WIB and continues until 20.32 WIB, with the last departure from the Airport station at 19.30 WIB and arriving at DJKA station at 20.32 WIB.

Aida explained that the addition of the six LRT trips provided an opportunity for a longer time for the community to use the LRT, from 52 trips a day to 58 trips per day, which would make it easier for passengers to travel safely, free of traffic and at affordable prices.

In addition, it is expected that by increasing the number of trips, it will further increase public interest in using LRT and make South Sumatra LRT an important part of the future public transportation system for the people of Palembang, especially since South Sumatra LRT has been integrated with Damri buses and Trans Musi, Aida said.

Since it began operations on July 23, 2018, the LRT has recorded transporting 1,689,502 passengers.

Officials expect that the addition of these six trips will provide alternative transportation for the public when traveling.
