"The returning holidaymakers travelled with 39 flights and two additional flights," spokesman for the state airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I, Fendrick Sondra said here on Sunday.
Although the figure felt 18.78 percent compared to the same period last year, it increased compared to the previous day.
""On the D+1 the number of returning holidaymakers was only 4,146 with 39 flights," he said.
Still on the D+2 the number of Eid-al-Fitr, homeward travelers arriving at the airport was still high, reaching 5,095 with 41 flights.
A homeward holidaymaker said he returned to his hometown after Eid because he had to do several jobs.
"Yes I had to get them done so I could travel to my hometown. What is important is that I could return home and meet with my family," he said.
To serve Eid-al-Fitr holidaymakers PT Angkasa Pura II set up an integrated homecoming command post at the airport from May 29 to June 13, 2019 or seven days before and seven days after Eid-al-Fitr festivities.
He asked returning holidaymakers to always pay attention to their flight schedule and not to bring a lot of items.
