Jakarta (ANTARA) - The State Enterprises Minister, Rini Soemarno, has asked airlines to calculate the cost structure of air travel following the plan to reduce airfares.

"I have yet to receive a report and today we will discuss it. I have always emphasized that the cost must be calculated," Rini said here on Friday.

Rini noted that the price calculation should be done transparently.

Especially for the national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, she said, it should prioritize flight safety and security, and improve its services to ensure the convenience of passengers.

Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Transportation Minister and other stakeholders held a meeting and issued three policies regarding ticket prices for low-cost flights.

"The three policies included decreasing airfares for domestic low-cost carriers for certain flight schedules," the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Darmin Nasution, said.

The second policy involved all parties, including airlines, Angkasa Pura 1 and Angkasa Pura 2 as airport operators, and state-owned oil firm, Pertamina, to have the same commitment to reduce the prices.

The third point included the government finalizing its policy to provide fiscal incentives for carter services, maintenance and aircraft reparation. Related news: Minister confirms Garuda's review ongoing over decline in passengers
