"Congratulations to Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who was re-elected in the presidential election democratically," he said in a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
Arief hoped that Jokowi would keep up his campaign promises to the people of Indonesia.
"Our hearts are Indonesia, the winner is Indonesia. Let's reunite to build the nation and country. We have the same heart. My heart is your heart, Indonesia," Arief said.
The Constitutional Court, through its decision, rejected all claims from the Prabowo Subianto - Sandiaga Uno pair regarding the electoral dispute trial.
"The verdict rejected the applicant's claims entirely," Constitutional Court Chief Justice, Anwar Usman, said when reading the decision at the Constitutional Court in Jakarta on Thursday.
The decision indirectly stipulates the Jokowi-Amin pair as the elected President and Vice President for the period of 2019-2024 based on the decision of the General Election Commission (KPU).
