There are eight people hailing from Aceh who we have arrested.Pekanbaru, Riau (ANTARA) - Aviation security officers of Sultan Syarif Kasim (SSK) II International Airport in Pekanbaru, Riau Province, foiled an attempt to smuggle 32 parcels of crystal methamphetamine weighing a total of 4.1 kilograms, Friday, Eight people, all in their 20s, were arrested in connection with the drug smuggling attempt, Senior Commissioner Susanto, head of the Pekanbaru Police, said.
"There are eight people hailing from Aceh who we have arrested," he said.
The airport security officers grew suspicious when they spotted the eight people wearing very similar shoes. On checking their shoes they discovered the drugs inside.
All of them were couriers and were planning to fly to Surabaya from Pekanbaru.
