Tomohon (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo is scheduled to inaugurate the Tomohon International Flower Festival (TIFF) in August 2019, Mayor of Tomohon City in North Sulawesi Jimmy F Eman has said. "We are continuing to finalize all the preparations," Eman said in Tomohon onThursday.

Starting with the international flower festival, a number of guests from several friendly countries will visit the city of fewer than 100 thousand people.

Therefore, the community and all stakeholders are expected to create a conducive atmosphere that would provide a sense of security and comfort for all guests and tourists who come to Tomohon to see this annual flower festival.

"Let us maintain security, comfort, and let's treat all guests who come by giving us a smile that is a sign of hospitality," he said.

The Tomohon International Flower Festival has become one of the 100 annual agendas of the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism, the Golkar Party politician added.

This flower festival is also being used as a platform to increase the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia, North Sulawesi and Tomohon City.

"This flower festival belongs to all of us, so let's give a role to the success of the tourism agenda that is held every year," he said.

The mayor was optimistic that the flower festival would improve the welfare of the community and help promote the tourism business.

"Flower farmers, restaurants and restaurant providers, decorators, hotel and innkeepers, motorists, and other tourism players will surely enjoy the results of this festival. People will definitely benefit from the economic side," he said.
