"We managed to pull out the victims and aircraft from the bottom of Cimanuk River," Indramayu Deputy Chief of Police Kompol Fajar Widyadharma noted in Indramayu, Tuesday.
Widyadharma admitted to his side encountering difficulties in pulling out the victims and wreckage from the Cimanuk River bed.
"The training aircraft crashed on Monday (July 22) at 14:50 a.m. WIB. It was difficult to deploy heavy equipment at the location," he revealed.
"Yesterday, the obstacle was due to the fact that the accident occurred at 14.50 West Indonesia Time. We faced difficulty in preparing heavy equipment due to the terrain," he explained.
Hence, on Tuesday (July 23) morning, officers returned to the location in search for victims and also attempted to pull out the wreckage from the bottom of Cimanuk River.
Widyadharma stated that the next step laid with the police that immediately submitted the search result to the NTSC for investigation.
"We will hand it over to the NTSC regarding whatever investigation is to be conducted. The NTSC is authorized to do it," he added.
