Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo met with 12 new Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of friendly countries on the verandah of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday. President Widodo chatted with each of the ambassadors for about five minutes.

The talks were held after the ambassadors of the friendly countries presented their credentials to President Joko Widodo.

Those who presented their credentials were Mahmut Erol Kilic, Ambassador of Turkey; Jonathan Edward Austin, Ambassador of New Zealand, Nebojsa Koharovic, Ambassador of Croatia; Zainal Abidin bin Bakar, Ambassador of Malaysia, and Owen John Jenkins, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

In addition, he also met Sri Lankan Ambassador Yasoja Gunasakera; Bulgarian Ambassador Petar Dimitrov Andonov; Daniyar Sarekenov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan; Faizullah Zaki, Ambassador of Afghanistan, and Belmiro Jose Malate, Ambassador of Mozambique.

He then met with Mondi Solomon Dlamini, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Eswatini domiciled in Kuala Lumpur, and Sekou Kasse, Ambassador of Mali, residing in New Delhi.

Their arrival was announced by the flags and national anthems of the respective countries.

The initial procession took place in the front yard of the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
