Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati drew attention to six prerequisites that can serve as a foundation for Indonesia to become a developed nation in line with Indonesia's Vision 2045.

"These six prerequisites are the foundation for maintaining balance and ushering in progress," Sri Mulyani remarked during a discussion and launch of the book "Indonesia Towards the World's Big Five" in Jakarta on Thursday.

Sri Mulyani remarked that the six prerequisites comprise, first, sufficient infrastructure to support mobility and support development, while the second concerns bolstering human resources through research education, health programs, and social protection.

The third prerequisite encompasses the provision of technology through enhancement of innovation and technology to respond to industrial challenges, while the fourth entails improving government bureaucracy by improving service quality and business process efficiency.

The fifth prerequisite involves good regional spatial management and supported by an integrative system, while the sixth involves economic and financial resources that are met through a healthy state budget to support the successful realization of the target in 2045.

However, Sri Mulyani affirmed that these six prerequisites are not guarantees since efforts are also deemed significant to anticipate the turmoil and uncertainty rife in the global environment through various policy instruments.

"That is not a guarantee, as we are also faced with the dynamics of fluctuations, volatility, and also crises occurring in the global environment. We do not work in a vacuum environment," she stated.

On the occasion, Sri Mulyani also explained Indonesia's potential in 2045 to become the fifth-largest economy in the world, with per capita income of US$23,199 and productive age reaching 47 percent of the population.

"The vision cannot be realized automatically, and the momentum of improvement does not run automatically. The entire vision can become a reality if in every period, we utilize resources to address fundamental issues," Sri Mulyani added.
