The postponement is indefiniteJakarta (ANTARA) - The Parliament has decided to indefinitely postpone the passage of a Bill on the Criminal Code (KUHP), following discussions with the government, Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Bambang Soesatyo has said. "The postponement is indefinite," Soesatyo said here Tuesday.
He denied that there was a disagreement between the DPR and the government regarding the deadline of the postponement.

They have agreed on an indefinite postponement, probably until the next Parliament session, the Speaker said.
He had earlier been optimistic that the KUHP bill could be passed in this period, but due to political dynamism, the DPR lauded the delay, he said.
At the request of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), the passage of four bills were delayed. The senior Golkar politician said. The bills are the KUHP Bill, on prisons, on agrarian, and one on mineral and coal mining.
"I understand the stance of President Jokowi to request postponement of the passage of the four bills," he said.
The government and the Parliament must review the KUHP and prison bills and reintroduce them to the public so they would have a better understanding of the bills, he said.
