The government is committed to transforming Indonesia from a developed to an advanced country by 2045 by improving the quality of human development, sustainable economic growth, equitable development and good governance.
This was conveyed by Vice President Jusuf Kalla at the SDGs Summit, entitled "2020-2030 Vision", during the 74th United Nations General Assembly in New York, Wednesday (Sept 25).
"All achievements and potential for future progress will be the basis of our long-term vision, called the 'Vision of Indonesia 2045'," Kalla said on Thursday.
In an effort to realize this vision, Kalla added that Indonesia has achieved a number of important milestones, such as inclusive and consistent economic growth.
Indonesia's commitment toward SDGs continues to be carried out by applying those objective points in national development planning.
Kalla mentioned the measures taken to realizing the SDGs, including activating changes to accelerate the pace of progress, building global partnerships and promoting an inclusive approach among stakeholders.
"The next ten years must be directed to accelerate the achievement of SDGs, and it must begin today. Vision 2020-2030 must be built on synergy and urgency in order to succeed," the vice president said.
On the third day of the 74th UNGA, Kalla attended the meeting of the "Joint Access to Face the Coffee Price Crisis and Achieve Its Sustainable Production", as well as a business forum initiated by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the US Chamber of Commerce, which took place in the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in New York.
