The event, which brought together more than 70 Indonesian and Slovak businessmen, is aimed at exploring opportunities to enhance cooperation in the fields of trade, tourism and investment
London (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Embassy in Bratislava and Slovak Trade and Investment Development Agency (SARIO) held an Indonesia-Slovakia business forum in Bratislava to scout for business opportunities between both nations.

"The event, which brought together more than 70 Indonesian and Slovak businessmen, is aimed at exploring opportunities to enhance cooperation in the fields of trade, tourism, and investment," Counsellor of the Indonesian Embassy in Bratislava Lely Meiliani noted in a statement made available to a London-based Antara journalist on Friday.

Sulaiman Saleh, concurrently chief of the Visegrad Group, led the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) delegation to the business forum and comprised several businessmen including those from the Texmaco Group.

Natalia Barinkova, SARIO's acting director of foreign trade, praised the Indonesian business mission’s visit to Slovakia as part of the efforts to intensify business interaction between both nations.

SARIO supports the business relations between Indonesia and Slovakia. The meeting is expected to pave the path for concrete cooperation between both nations.

Indonesian Ambassador to Slovakia Adiyatwidi Adiwoso Asmady commended SARIO for its consistent support to the creation of business relations between the two countries.

He pointed to trade and investment relations between Indonesia and Slovakia being mutually complementary. Slovakia has technology and science in the field of manufacturing, information technology and automation, while Indonesia can supply goods to the Slovak automotive manufacturing and electronic industries.

Under the memorandum of understanding inked between the two countries, Indonesia exported premium coffee and sent 40 skilled workers to Slovakia this year.

The cooperation also included the installation of weather- and wind-detecting devices at the Kulon Progo and Juanda airports in Indonesia.
