The event, held on Jan 23, is expected to attract global business leaders attending the WEF to invest in the country, Indonesian Ambassador to the United Nations, World Trade Organization, and other international organizations in Geneva, Hasan Kleib noted in a statement here on Friday.
The annual event will offer an opportunity to improve connections among business stakeholders and explore the potential to expand businesses in Indonesia, Kleib stated.
Present at the event were Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto, Communication and Informatics Minister Rudiantara, Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Thomas Lembong, Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland Muliaman Hadad, and Executive Chairman of WEF Professor Klaus Schwab.
The event was attended by some 900 guests, including business leaders participating in the forum.
Prof. Schwab noted in his speech that Indonesia Night will offer a momentum to develop business interaction and boost Indonesia`s reputation in the global arena.
As a big country, he believes Indonesia will need to explore its potential through cooperation with several global players. Simplification of the business licensing process in the country will attract more businessmen in the world.
