London (ANTARA) - Indonesia, the official partner country of Hannover Messe 2020, the world's leading industrial technology and investment expo, will strive to center the world’s attention on its vast economic potentials.

Indonesia will have a huge opportunity to seize the relocation of industries, Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Arif Havas Oegroseno informed the Indonesian and German media in Berlin on Friday.

Hannover Messe CEO Dr Jochen Kocler was also present at the press briefing, Hannan Hadi of the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin stated.

The ambassador believes that the true potential of Indonesia's economy is yet to be fully understood and grasped by the German public.

Indonesia is known to many as a tourist destination, especially Bali, Flores, and Borobudur. Indonesia is quite a pleasant location for holidaying.

"We are way beyond just a tourist destination. We, as a nation, are a large economy," Oegroseno emphasized.

Indonesia's proposal for being the official partner country of Hannover Messe, to be organized on April 20-24, 2020, was well-accepted by the Deutch Messe and German Government, Dr Kocler stated.

In below a year’s time, a memorandum of understanding was inked on Indonesia, as the official partner country.

"I am certain that with its population, economic achievement, and geography, as well as stability, Indonesia is the right country," he emphasized.

"Indonesia is an emerging economic powerhouse, with strengths in manufacturing and energy. As the Hannover Messe partner country, this diverse nation will capitalize on the opportunities at hand to showcase itself as a reliable and cooperative investment location," Chairman of the Deutsche Messe Managing Board Dr Jochen Köckler had earlier stated.

After 1995, Indonesia has again been chosen as the official partner country of Hannover Messe.

The Hannover Messe 2019, with Sweden as the official partner country, recorded 211 thousand visitors from 98 countries, some 94 percent of which were businessmen while 66 of them were decision makers in their companies. During the five-day event, 6.5 million business deals were inked.
