Hence, Jokowi should not be doubtful in deciding on matters concerning his cabinet line-upJakarta (ANTARA) - Some two thousand elites of the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party hailing from throughout Indonesia and observers attended the party's national meeting in Hambalang, Bogor District, West Java Province, on Wednesday.
"Some two thousand people attended Gerindra's national meeting during which four agenda items, including presenting hints of Gerindra's political stance, will be highlighted to the participants," Gerindra Party Deputy Chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad stated.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Ahmad noted that the meeting's participants will also hear perspectives of the party's regional representatives and discuss matters pertaining to technical guidelines of the party's short- and long-term activities.

The meeting will be wrapped up by announcing the party's final political stance on the Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin administration due to be officially sworn-in on Oct 20.
Gerindra Secretary General Ahmad Muzani had hinted earlier that Prabowo Subianto never expressed inclination to join the coalition parties of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin administration. Gerindra's final stance would be decided following the party's meeting.
However, Subianto had also advised incumbent President Jokowi to not be doubtful in deciding matters concerning his cabinet lineup since Gerindra was game to either staying within or outside the government, he stated.

Muzani quoted Prabowo as saying that Gerindra was ready if Jokowi perceived it to be better if the party remained outside the government. Hence, Jokowi should not be doubtful in deciding on matters concerning his cabinet line-up.
He emphasized that all matters concerning the cabinet line-up are the prerogative rights of Jokowi as the president-elect.
On Oct 11, Prabowo had met with Jokowi at the Merdeka Palace during which they shared a common perspective on Indonesia's dire need for security and political stability.
These two figures, who both waged stiff campaigns during this year's presidential elections, reiterated the importance of security and political stability for the sake of Indonesia's ongoing economic growth and development amid the global economic slowdown.

On Oct 13, Prabowo also accepted the invitation of National Democratic (Nasdem) Party leader Surya Paloh to hold a meeting. Nasdem is one of the staunch members of the Jokowi-Amin camp's coalition parties.
From the onset, Prabowo had affirmed that Gerindra was ready to sit in the opposition or join the coalition of the Jokowi-Amin administration.
