"We held extensive discussions on the Constitution and obtained inputs from Vice President Jusuf Kalla on relations between high state institutions," MPR speaker Bambang Soesatyo remarked in Jakarta on Thursday.
Vice President Kalla stated that there was no longer the highest state institution, but there was a high state institution.
During the discussion, the vice president urged the leaders of MPR to gain an understanding of the position of the institution in future.
"The question is what will be the future position of the MPR among other institutions," he stated.

The vice president put forth a suggestion for the MPR to be open to public aspirations on the limited amendments to the 1945 Constitution and the plan to revive state policy guidelines (GBHN).
Soesatyo stressed that the MPR had been heedful of the public aspirations on the limited amendments to the 1945 Constitution and the plan to revive the GBHN.
The MPR leaders who attended the meeting comprised Chairman of the Indonesian MPR Bambang Soesatyo and Deputy Chair of MPR RI Ahmad Muzani, Syarif Hasan, Ahmad Basarah, Fadel Muhammad, Lestari Moerdijat, Zulkifli Hasan, Arsul Sani, and Jazilul Fawaid.
