Jakarta (ANTARA) - Several countries’ leaders paid courtesy calls on President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ahead to​ his presidential inauguration at the Credential Room of the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Sunday.

Among the leaders who paid the courtesy calls for Jokowi several hours prior to the swearing-in ceremony of the Indonesian president-elect and vice president-elect were Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah, and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison who came along with his wife, Mrs Jenny Morrison.

Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong and his wife, Mrs Ho Ching; Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen, King Mswati III of Eswatini Kingdom and his wife, Mrs Siphelele Mashwama, were also scheduled to visit Jokowi.

President Jokowi wore a dark blue suit with a red tie, while the first lady, Iriana, wore a cream traditional outfit kebaya.

After welcoming his VVIP guests, President Jokowi, accompanied by Mrs Iriana Jokowi, Ministry of Forreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung held an informal meeting at the Jepara Room.
