Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) highlighted the need of easing requirements for industries that could boost Indonesia's exports, during the first plenary meeting of his Indonesia Onward Cabinet 2019-2024 at Merdeka Palace here on Thursday.

"I have repeatedly conveyed this statement. If there are export-oriented industries, or those intending to produce substitute goods for importing, please do not take too long to sign (the documents of approval)," he told cabinet members at the meeting.

President Jokowi said the central and regional governments must set targets for creating more job opportunities. To this end, those industries that are able to provide jobs need to be served well.

At the meeting, he also warned cabinet members about the need to work together as one team, while working to boost Indonesia's development.

"Our work is team work. It is not just the work belonging to each minister. It is not a sectoral ego," said Jokowi, who was accompanied by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin at the meeting held one day after Jokowi and Amini made an official announcement about their new cabinet line-up.

In building a great nation like Indonesia, the ministries and government agencies cannot work alone with their exclusive concerns about their own sectors, he said.

Instead, all ministries are to be supervised by coordinating ministries, said the President.

Therefore, all ministers should be present when invited by their coordinating ministeries to strengthen coordinative work among all ministries for advancing the country's development goals, he said.

President Jokowi chaired the first plenary meeting of his Indonesia Onward Cabinet on Thursday morning, during which he directed cabinet members and discussed the 2020 State Budget.

While officially announcing his cabinet line-up at the Merdeka Palace on Wednesday, Jokowi had issued seven instructions for ministers to follow.

"Do not become involved in corruption. Create a system that closes loopholes for corruption," Jokowi remarked.

Second, he drew attention to the absence of a ministerial vision, despite the president and vice president having in place their own vision and mission.

Third, the president urged his ministers to work hard, quickly, and in a productive manner.

Fourth, he reminded the ministers to not become trapped in routine and monotonous activities.

"Works must be oriented toward achieving concrete results. Our task is not only limited to what has been 'sent', but continues until everything is 'delivered,'" Jokowi emphasized.

The president had earlier pointed out that a minister must not only carry out and complete his work, but must also ensure that the people benefit from it.

Additionally, Jokowi instructed his ministers to check problems on the field and find solutions.

The last instruction from the president stressed the need for ministers to work seriously.

"Those who are not serious, will be replaced," he stressed.
