Pemuda Pancasila Deputy General Chairman, Bambang Soesatyo, concurrently speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), voiced the pledge while speaking at the opening session of this organization's 10th Congress here on Saturday.
"We become aggressive again if there are parties threatening the sovereignty of Indonesia, Pancasila, and attempting to challenge President Joko Widodo as Indonesia's head of state and head of government," Soesatyo emphasized.
Pemuda Pancasila members will leave no stone unturned to defend Indonesia's sovereignty until the last drop of blood, he reiterated, adding that PP, founded by General Abdul Haris Nasution on Oct 28, 1959, and led by Japto Soerjosoemarno since 1981, was no longer an organization of hoodlums.
"We are no longer an ordinary organization of hoodlums. We no longer use machetes, tattoos, or a thick mustache. Instead, we now apply our brain, logics, knowledge, and astuteness in occupying regions," he stated.
Thus, Pemuda Pancasila is currently a people-centric organization that lays due emphasis on the application of knowledge, he reiterated.
In the meantime, PP General Chairman Japto Soerjosoemarno highlighted that Pancasila and the 1945 State Constitution are the ideological and philosophical foundations of his organization. Its cadres can be found in various state agencies and political parties.
He also gave instructions to all cadres of Pemuda Pancasila throughout Indonesia to support the Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin administration to lead Indonesia until 2024.
Speaking in connection with the agenda of this 10th congress, he affirmed that the congress participants evaluate the organization's past programs and suggest future programs for the organization as well as appoint a leader, who will implement the programs.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially opened the congress during which he urged Pemuda Pancasila to stand as the perpetual defender of Indonesia's state ideology under which the nation would stand united in diversity to realize its golden era in 2045.
"I believe Pemuda Pancasila will continue to take care of Pancasila and initiate the implementation of its values to pave the way for achieving a developed and prosperous Indonesia," he stated while addressing the congress' participants at the opening session.
Indonesia should become a developed nation, and in 2045, it will celebrate a century of its independence. During that time, Indonesia will potentially become the world's fifth-largest economy, with per capita income reaching Rp320 million annually, he noted.
However, in pursuit of achieving the goal, the nation is urged to make all-out efforts through collaboration as a solid team and emerge innovative and more competitive at the global level, President Jokowi emphasized.
