"I believe Pemuda Pancasila (PP) will continue to take care of Pancasila and initiate the implementation of its values to pave the path for achieving a developed and prosperous Indonesia," Jokowi stated while addressing participants of PP's 10th congress here on Saturday.
Indonesia should become a developed nation, and in 2045, it will celebrate a century of its independence. During that time, Indonesia will potentially become the world's fifth-largest economy, with per capita income reaching Rp320 million annually, he stated.
However, in realizing the goal, the nation is called to make all-out efforts through collaboration as a solid team and emerge innovative and more competitive at the global level, President Jokowi emphasized.
The 10th Pemuda Pancasila Congress was attended by the youth organization's general chairman, Japto Soerjosoemarno, and several top political elites, including Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Bambang Soesatyo and Speaker of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) La Nyalla Mahmud Matalitti.
Jokowi officially opened the congress. General Abdul Haris Nasution had founded the PP on Oct 28, 1959, and Japto Soerjosoemarno has chaired it since 1981. Related news: Indonesia needs Pancasila and fair economic prosperity
