"The TMMD community service program is part of the TNI's commitment through collaborative efforts with various parties and ministries to open and develop the remote and isolated areas," he stated at the closing ceremony of the 106th regular TMMD Program on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion in Menua Sadap Village, Embaloh Hulu Sub-district, Kapuas Hulu District, West Kalimantan Province, Rahmad noted that the TNI had actively engaged the local residents in the TMMD Program, and its benefit was also felt by them.
The TMMD Program is implemented through the spirit of "gotong royong" (mutual cooperation) and "togetherness," and it is expected to help community members become more prosperous, he noted.
During the implementation of this program in Menua Sadap Village, the TMMD Task Force personnel were able to complete the construction of a seven-kilometer-long road and also bridges.
In Salam Babaris Sub-district, Tapik District, South Kalimantan Province, 38 residents of two villages in the sub-district allowed their land to be used for constructing a road by the TMMD Task Force personnel.
Commander of the 1010 Rantau Military Command Lt. Col. Inf. Rio Neswan expressed gratitude to the villagers, who had offered their land for this community service program.
