Banda Aceh, Aceh (ANTARA) - The Aceh provincial government has sent 20 millennial farmers to take up apprenticeship in Songkhla, Thailand, as part of the efforts to hone their agricultural knowledge.

"Today, we dispatched 20 millennial farmers to Songkhla, Thailand. Next year, we will also send millennial farmers in larger numbers abroad," Chief of the Aceh Provincial Agriculture and Plantation Office A. Hanan stated on the sidelines of the opening of the Aceh Agro Expo 2019 in Banda Aceh on Friday.

The millennial farmers comprised graduates of agricultural vocational school and agricultural faculty of university, he noted.

While in Thailand, they will focus on studying pandan wangi coconut, ranging from cultivation to management of pandan wangi coconut plantation.

"Hopefully, after returning from Thailand, they would become strong farmers in developing farm commodities on their plantations," he added.
