Iskandar will deliver a speech titled "Collaborative Climate Action; Legislative and Executive Continuous Supports" at the Indonesian Pavilion Forum, which is part of a series of UNCCC COP25 activities, he noted in a written statement made available on Monday.
The Indonesian Pavilion Forum will bring together hundreds of participants from the Indonesian delegation and observers from several countries participating in the UNCCC COP25.
The series of UNCCC COP25 activities, to last for 11 days from December 2 to 13, 2019, will involve delegations from 197 nations. The event highlights comprise panel discussions and negotiation sessions involving all participating nations, including Indonesia.
Iskandar, concurrently general chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB), remarked that Indonesia must adopt an unwavering stance in the negotiations to outline the obligations of participating countries since Indonesia has played a strategic role to that effect.
During the global forum, the Indonesian delegation will call for taking more concrete actions to address issues of emission reduction and climate change, he stated.
Iskandar said his presence at the forum mirrored the political commitment and seriousness of the Indonesian DPR to encourage concrete actions in tackling greenhouse gas emissions and global climate change.
