Amin’s doctor has advised him rest owing to his health condition, Masduki Baidlowi, special staff in charge of communication and information of the Vice President, stated here on Wednesday.
"We announce that the vice president will not be able to be present at the KL Summit since his doctor’s team had reached a conclusion that he must rest," Baidlowi remarked.
Indonesia will be represented by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi at the KL Summit. Marsudi was already in KL on Wednesday.
The presidential medical team advised Amin to take rest for two days. However, Amin’s health was in good condition, and there was no cause for concern, Baidlowi remarked.
In line with the early agenda, Amin was scheduled to head to South Kalimantan from Kuala Lumpur for a function to commemorate National Solidarity Day.
"His condition is not a cause for concern actually. He is expected to be able to go to South Kalimantan," he added. The KL Summit is an international platform for Muslim leaders, intellectuals, and scholars from across the world to discuss and exchange ideas on the issues affecting the Muslim world.
In November 2014, Malaysia had hosted the first Summit in Kuala Lumpur, bringing together renowned Muslim figures.
