Their performance caught the attention of commuters, and some of them even stopped for a while to enjoy the festive Christmas carols.
The performance did not only entertain Christians, but Muslims as well who seemed enthused by the performance. Some of them captured the moment through photos and videos.
Evy, 46, a resident of Radio Dalam, South Jakarta, stopped for a while to watch the Christmas carol display by The Salvation Army and Brass Band General from the Salvation Church, Kramat Raya, Jakarta.
"At first, I wanted to see the carolers in Kemayoran, but it was too far. It turned out that the Christmas carol singers were also in Blok M, so I am satisfied and happy," she said.

One felt that the presence of the carolers brought a new festive atmosphere to the capital city, Evy said.
Meanwhile, Yulia Pany who is the Adviser of The Salvation Army music group, said that the "Christmas in Jakarta" activity was held for the first time by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
"I am very happy that this program has given a new color to the Christmas celebrations in Jakarta," she said.
Normally, the group only performs in churches for Christians, but with Christmas in Jakarta, their performance entertained all the citizens of Jakarta.
"Everyone was entertained, our music was accepted and some people who were wearing the hijab even swayed to our music," she added.
The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta provides new entertainment to add to the lively Christmas celebration in public spaces with the theme, "Christmas in Jakarta", especially along the MH Thamrin-Blok M public facilities Line.
Christmas carols can be enjoyed by the public from December 18 to 20, 2019 at eleven points of public facilities from 5 to 7pm local time every day as follows:
1. In front of the Grand Hyatt hotel; 2. Kendal Tunnel; 3. Taman Dukuh Atas; 4. In front of Sampoerna Strategic; 5. In front of FX Sudirman; 6. Bundaran HI MRT Station; 7. Istora MRT Station; 8. Blok M MRT Station; 9. Cipete Raya MRT Station; 10. In front of Mayapada building (starting December 12); 11. In front of Panin building (starting December 19).
