Putranto visited several health services rooms at the hospital along with the newly opened Anggrek building.
After the visit, the minister pointed to the need to upgrade the capacity of the referral hospital.
"I have observed the hospital's capabilities and limitations. We need to remove these limitations and have them upgraded," he stated.
Meanwhile, Nina Susana Dewi, director of the Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung, stated that the hospital had stationed five doctors on duty during the year-end holiday season.
"Apart from emergency services, we have also prepared to ensure routine services, including chemotherapy and radiotherapy, for our patients. They have been registered and scheduled. We have to fulfill them," she stated.
Minister Putranto remarked that the increased mobilization of people during the holidays also increased the risks for accidents and called for the need for health facilities to take requisite precautionary measures and respond promptly to emergencies.
"With more and rapid mobilization of the people (during the holidays), we need to avert accidents and if they do occur, we have the opportunity to avoid severe injuries or also deaths if the services are prompt," he pointed out.
He also encouraged travelers to take adequate rest and remain vigilant while operating a vehicle.
"Avoid excess emotions on the road, so everyone can be reunited with their families," he added.
