We will thereafter consider, especially for university students, whether to return to their place of study," the minister stated in Natuna, Riau Islands, on Saturday.
He further noted that credits from their studies can be transferred to national universities, should the student opt to continue them in the country, as long as the study fields match.
For those who received scholarships, especially from the government, further discussions will be held on the matter, as coordination regarding scholarships comes under the realm of the ministry.
The 238 Indonesians under observation in Natuna have been declared healthy, with no signs of COVID-19 infections, Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto, also at the scene to send them off, stated.
The Ministry of Health has issued COVID-19-free certificates for Indonesians returning to their respective hometowns after being quarantined.
The health minister had also urged the regional health office to continue to monitor their conditions.
"It is also to help them socialize with the rest of the citizens and their families. The health offices will continue to monitor their health, and we have coordinated with them," he added.
