The Kemayoran Meteorology station recorded the highest rain intensity at 278 millimeters today
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) confirmed that several parts in Indonesia's capital city, Jakarta, had received extreme torrential rainfall, with intensity exceeding 150 millimeters a day, since Monday (Feb 24) to Tuesday.

"The Kemayoran Meteorology station recorded the highest rain intensity at 278 millimeters today," BMKG's head of public meteorology, Fachri Radjab, reaffirmed in Jakarta, Tuesday, citing the average torrential rain received was under 100 millimeters per day.

He noted that two tropical typhoons -- the Tropical Cyclone Esther and the Tropical Cyclone Ferdinand -- might contribute to the extreme weather in Jakarta this morning.

The meteorology agency reported torrential rains, with intensity of over 150 mm, with Pintu Air Pulo Gadung receiving 260 mm; Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport, 205 mm; Sunter Timur I Kodamar, 165 mm; and Setiabudi Timur, 150 mm.
