Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital (RSD) in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, treated 704 inpatients confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The number of inpatients under surveillance (PDP) at the hospital reached 66, while those categorized as patients under monitoring (ODP) stood at 162.

The updated data indicated that the total number of inpatients at the Wisma Atlet Hospital reached 932 on Thursday at 8 a.m. local time, down 33, from 965 the day before.

The 932 inpatients comprised 607 men and 325 women.

The hospital discharged four patients on Thursday and urged them to self-isolate at their homes.

Since the Kemayoran Athlete's Village was converted to officially serve as a COVID-19 Emergency Hospital on March 23, 2020, a total of 881 patients were discharged from the hospital, with a bed capacity of 12 thousand.

The 881 patients comprised 854 discharged to undergo self-isolation and 24 given discharge at their own request, while three succumbed to the disease.

Government spokesman for COVID-19 handling Achmad Yurianto noted that the number of coronavirus cases and deaths can be brought down only if the public complied with and remained disciplined to implement the government's call to stay at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
