Jakarta (ANTARA) - The number of confirmed coronavirus patients treated at the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, rose 15 to 739 on Sunday from 724 the day before.

In total, the hospital treated 831 inpatients compared to 816 on the previous day, Commander of the Joint Regional Defense Command (Kogabwilhan) I Vice Admiral Yudo Margono said in a written statement released on Sunday.

The 831 inpatients comprised 498 men and 333 women.

As many as 739 of the 831 patients tested positive for the COVID-19, 33 are patients under surveillance (PDPs) and 59 are people under surveillance (ODPs).

The number of ODPs and PDP remained unchanged compared to the day before.

Since the hospital started operating on March 23, 2020, a total of 1,851 patients have been treated at the hospital, including 86 patients moved to referral hospitals.

The referral hospitals are RSPAD Gatot Subroto, RS Pelni, RS Persahabatan, RSPI Sulianti Saroso, RSUP Fatmawati, RS Pasar Minggu, RS Mitra Keluarga, RSUD Duren Sawit, RS Polri Kramat Jati, RSUD Tarakan, RS Primer Jatinegara, RS Angkatan Laut Mintoharjo, RS St Carolus, and RS Pertamina.

A total of 683 patients have returned home to self isolate, 22 patients have returned home at their own request and three patients died.

President Joko Widodo inaugurated the emergency hospital, with a total capacity of handling 12 thousand patients on March 23 as part of Indonesia's endeavors to fight the coronavirus pandemic.


The Indonesian government also set up another emergency hospital in Galang Island, Riau Islands Province. The Galang Emergency Hospital, officially operated since April 6, 2020.
