“Sovereignty or independence is an important part of Prabowonomics,” Hadi said at the Presidential Palace Complex here on Thursday.
According to him, Prabowonomics is an overarching theme that carries several key emphases, including the importance of maintaining stability so that the economy can function properly. Economic sovereignty and independence also form an essential part of the concept.
Other focal points include achieving self-reliance in strategic sectors such as food and energy, which the government has long promoted as foundations of national economic resilience.
“This includes, for example, our independence in terms of food and energy, which we have long referred to as food and energy self-sufficiency,” he explained.
Regarding the possibility of bilateral meetings between President Prabowo and other world leaders on the sidelines of the WEF, Hadi said such plans still need to be confirmed.
President Prabowo is scheduled to deliver a special address at the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, Switzerland, under the main theme of “Prabowonomics.”
According to information from the official WEF website, President Prabowo will speak at 2 p.m. local time (CET), or 8 p.m. Jakarta time. His session will be preceded by addresses from Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
The World Economic Forum is an annual global gathering held since 1971 in Davos, Switzerland, bringing together experts, practitioners, economists, academics, and world leaders to discuss current economic challenges and future projections.
