Jakarta (ANTARA) - Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said Indonesia’s participation in the 2026 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos presents a strategic opportunity to strengthen the national industry’s position within global supply chains.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the minister said the government’s industrial investment policy is focused on deepening the industrial structure, increasing the participation of domestic industry players, and expanding national industrial networks.

He said the Ministry of Industry is committed to ensuring that incoming investments enhance national industrial capacity through knowledge and technology transfer, stronger domestic supply chain linkages, and the integration of Indonesian industries into global production networks.

“Indonesia does not want enclave-type investments. We want investments that are closely connected to the domestic industrial ecosystem and provide opportunities for Indonesian products to participate in global supply chains,” Kartasasmita said.

He added that the policy aligns with the strategic message delivered by President Prabowo Subianto in his address at the 2026 WEF Annual Meeting (Davos 2026).

Indonesia, he said, reaffirmed its position as a stable and credible country offering significant opportunities for global investment partnerships, while remaining committed to strengthening its domestic industrial base.

At the forum, President Prabowo also outlined the establishment of the sovereign wealth fund Danantara Indonesia as a strategic instrument to accelerate economic transformation and national industrialization, expand long-term investment cooperation, and strengthen partnerships with global investors.

Kartasasmita said quality investments will be directed toward priority sectors aimed at enhancing national industrial capacity.

He emphasized that every new investment is expected to deliver tangible benefits, including strengthening vocational education, improving industrial workforce skills, and integrating Indonesian industries into global production and value chains.

Earlier at Davos 2026, President Prabowo said Indonesia’s economic policies have been carefully calibrated and formulated based on data, serving as a key foundation for maintaining economic stability and fiscal discipline.

This approach, he said, has helped Indonesia preserve economic resilience amid global uncertainty.
