Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - The East Nusa Tenggara has sent medical supplies, including personal protective equipment (PPE), to Aeramo Mbay local hospital in Nagekeo District of Flores Island, after fire engulfed the hospital's warehouse and destroyed its medical supply on Saturday (May 9).

Among the medical supplies sent to the district are protective clothing, mask, gloves, boots, goggles, rapid test kits and medicines, Area coordinator of the NTT Provincial Task Force for Acceleration of COVID-19 Handling Isyak Nuka said here on Sunday.

A chartered airplane will arrive at Haji Aeoroboesman Airport in Ende later on the day carrying personal protective equipment (PPE) and other supplies for Aeramo Mbay Hospital, Nuka said.

It would take two hours by land transportation to transport the medical supply to the district.

Previously, head of East Nusa Tenggara Health Office Dominikus Minggu Mere said all PPE for COVID-19 handling in Aeramo Mbay Hospital, Nagekeo District in Flores were destroyed by fire on Saturday.

"According to the report of Nagekeo District Head Johanes Don Bosco Do to NTT Governor Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat, the fire has destroyed all PPE for COVID-19 handling and medicines," he said.
