Suka Makmue, Aceh (ANTARA) - Some 38 foreign nationals were evicted from Simpang Peut Village in Aceh Province on Friday evening for not holding working visas, Chief of the Nagan Raya Manpower and Transmigration Office Rahmatullah stated.

"Currently, the 38 foreign nationals only hold tourist visas. They failed to present working visas, although they came to Nagan Raya to work," he revealed.

The foreign nationals arrived at the Cut Nyak Dhien Airport in Nagan Raya, Aceh, on Friday evening. They departed from the Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Cengkareng, Banten, and transited via the Kualanamu International Airport, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.

On arrival at the Cut Nyak Dhien Airport, the relevant authorities had not checked the immigration documents of the foreign nationals. They had only presented tourist visas.

The 38 foreign nationals planned to build the 3 and 4 units of the Nagan Raya thermal power plants.

The Nagan Raya District COVID-19 Task Force was also notified on the arrival of the foreign nationals. The foreign nationals are mandated to follow health protocols and self-isolate for 14 days since their arrival.

"As they could not show working visas, they were taken to a hotel to self-isolate,” he stated.

However, a few hours after arriving at the hotel, several local residents reached there to evict them. The residents rejected the foreign nationals' visit to Nagan Raya.
