Jakarta (ANTARA) - An undersea earthquake of magnitude 5.0 hit the eastern Indonesian district of Seram Bagian Timur on early Thursday, though no tsunami warning was issued.

The earthquake, centered 23 kilometers north of Bula in Seram Bagian Timur, struck at a depth of 10 kilometers, according to the official website of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

No casualties or injuries were reported.

A magnitude of 5.0 is computed as a moderate earthquake and capable of causing considerable damage.
