Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized 3.3 hectares of palm oil plantation in Padang Lawas, North Sumatra, over a graft case involving former Supreme Court (MA) Secretary Nurhadi.

"At least 33 thousand square meters of palm oil plantation located in Padang Bulu Lama Village, South Barumun Sub-district, Padang Lawas District, North Sumatra, was seized," acting spokesperson of KPK Ali Fikri noted in a statement here on Thursday.

The commission also confiscated from a witness Rp100 million in cash, allegedly the yield of the palm oil plantation.

KPK's investigators have continued to work closely with the Padang Lawas prosecutor to investigate the graft case.

"On Wednesday (Sept 2), KPK's investigators grilled some witnesses and seized some assets allegedly related to NHD (Nurhadi) in the form of the palm oil plantation and its related documents in Padang Lawas District, North Sumatra," he noted.

The KPK had earlier seized 530.8 hectares of palm oil plantations in the district in connection with the case.

Nurhadi and his son-in-law Rezky Herbiyono were named graft suspects for allegedly accepting bribes in the form of nine cheques and Rp46 billion (US$3.2 million) in cash in connection with three cases handled at the Supreme Court between 2011 and 2016.

The commission also named PT Multicon Indrajaya Terminal Director Hiendra Soenyoto as suspect for promising Nurhadi nine cheques from the company.
