We are strengthening the business ecosystem in an integrated mannerJakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has called to strengthen the business ecosystem for farmers and fishermen to facilitate their businesses in remaining conducive and productive.
"We are strengthening the business ecosystem in an integrated manner," President Jokowi stated during a limited meeting held from the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, on Tuesday via videoconference of the Farmers and Fishermen Corporations in Realizing Economic Transformation.
Hence, the head of state urged ministries and institutions to strengthen the ecosystem to make it more conducive, especially in the endeavors to develop farmer and fishermen’s corporations through the preparation of supporting regulations.
"In fact, we have often spoken of farmers’ and fishermen’s corporations intended to raise their standard of living and to realize economic transformation," he explained.
On the same occasion, the president drew attention to the fact that the agricultural sector had contributed maximally to the nation’s economic growth amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
In fact, an overall economic slowdown had occurred.
It was recorded that in the second quarter of this year, the agricultural sector grew positively by 16.24 percent and the momentum of positive growth in the agricultural sector should be maintained, so that it has a significant impact on the welfare of farmers and fishermen.
