Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), on Wednesday, accepted letters of credentials presented by seven ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

This event marks the official placement of the seven ambassadors:

1. Resident Ambassador Benedetto Latteri of the Republic of Italy
2. Resident Ambassador Iv Heang of the Kingdom of Cambodia
3. Resident Ambassador Taesung Park of the Republic of Korea
4. Resident Ambassador Johannes Peterlik of the Republic of Austria
5. Resident Ambassador Manuel Antonio Saturno Escala of the Republic of Panama
6. Resident Ambassador Lars Bo Larsen of the Kingdom of Denmark
7. Resident Ambassador Sung Yong Kim of the United States of America

The presentation of letters began with a welcome ceremony at the Merdeka Palace yard where the national anthems of the respective nations were played.

All ceremonial processes were conducted in accordance with the set COVID-19 protocols, including wearing masks and maintaining safe distancing.

Among several high-ranking officials were Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, who accompanied the president during this event.
