Jakarta (ANTARA) - The number of people recovering from the novel coronavirus disease in Indonesia rose by 3,908 over a 24-hour period, taking the total recoveries to 317,672 as of Monday, according to the national COVID-19 task force.

Meanwhile, Indonesia recorded 3,222 new COVID-19 cases, which brought the total tally of infections to 392,934, the task force informed.

With 112 more patients succumbing to COVID-19, the death toll reached 13,411.

Among the 34 Indonesian provinces, Jakarta reported the highest number of new recoveries at 1,162, with 905 people testing positive for COVID-19 and 13 people succumbing to the infection.

West Java reported 442 new recoveries, 431 new cases, and 15 deaths.

In Central Java, 303 people recovered from COVID-19, 156 people tested positive for the virus, and 16 people died of the infection.

East Java saw the number of fresh recoveries rising 296, new cases increasing 285, and deaths climbing by 20.

Banten reported 261 new recoveries, 120 new cases, and 3 deaths; Riau witnessed 251 new recoveries, 205 new cases, and 4 deaths; and West Sumatra recorded 185 fresh recoveries, 269 new cases, and 3 deaths.

Ten provinces reported less than 10 new cases and two provinces — Bengkulu and Maluku — reported no cases.

The task force also recorded 170,163 suspected COVID-19 cases in 502 districts and cities in 30 provinces. Meanwhile, 24,413 specimens were examined for COVID-19, which brought the total number of specimens examined to 4,351,557.
