We, at the ministry, have four strategies on the development of MSME digitization.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises has come up with four strategies to develop digitization of micro-, small-, and medium-scale enterprises (MSME) that also encompass the development of human resources.

"We, at the ministry, have four strategies on the development of MSME digitization. First, we want to intervene in the area of human resources since our data shows that the basic problem for this is the operators' preparedness," a senior adviser of the cooperatives and small and medium enterprises minister Fiki Satari noted during a virtual discussion here on Wednesday.

Satari remarked that the ministry had launched a free online training program for capacity building of human resources that can be accessed through web address edukukm.id.

"The second stage is intervening in the process of business improvement. Here, we have many initiatives, including the campaign to shop at the neighbors' kiosks where we can supply basic necessities to the kiosks in cooperation with nine state enterprises in food and logistics for distribution via applications," he explained.

In its third phase, the ministry will expand market access in cooperation with the government's Goods and Service Procurement Policy Institution, where MSMEs can become the vendors for the government's good and services procurement. The sector has a potential value of Rp300 trillion, he stated.

For the fourth phase, the ministry will select MSME operators having the spirit as the drivers and honor them as local heroes.

"The MSMEs’ digital heroes are part of our final strategy to mobilize and transform MSME operators to the digital platform and ecosystem," he added.
