Jakarta (ANTARA) - On the third day of the 37th ASEAN Summit series, Saturday, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) attended virtually several ASEAN Summits with partner countries.

The ASEAN Summit, held in Vietnam, was attended by President Jokowi via videoconference from the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java.

The ASEAN-New Zealand Summit Meeting will initiate a series of ASEAN summits with partners that President Jokowi will partake in on Saturday Jokowi will thereafter attend the 2nd biennial ASEAN-Australia Summit and 23rd ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Summit followed by the ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Leaders Meeting with East Asia Business Council (EABC) Representatives.

In the afternoon, President Jokowi will attend the launch ceremony of the ASEAN Smart Logistics Network (ASLN) with First Project Vihn Phuc ICD Logistics Center (SuperPort). In the evening, President Jokowi is scheduled to attend the 15th East Asia Summit.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ASEAN Summit with partners will produce several agreements that include the Joint Statement on Human Capital Development related to human resource capacity building in the region through education, health, social economy, and technological improvements as well as a Joint Statement on Enhancing Cooperation under FTA and Combating COVID-19 regarding a joint commitment to reduce the impact of the pandemic on trade, global and regional investment and restore economic and trade confidence through ensuring market openness, trade facilitation, and sharing of experiences and information.

The other agreements comprise a Joint Statement of the Second ASEAN-Australia Biennial Summit, the Joint ASEAN-New Zealand Leaders Vision Statement on the 45th Anniversary of ASEAN-New Zealand Dialogue Relations: A Legacy of Partnership, A Future Together, and the Joint Statement of the 23rd ASEAN-Japan Summit on Cooperation on ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific as a form of realization of the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP).

Meanwhile, the East Asia Summit will produce five agreement documents.

The ASEAN Plus Three (APT) Summit will produce five agreement documents, especially the ASEAN Plus Three Leaders Statement on Strengthening ASEAN Plus Three Cooperation for Economic and Financial Resilience in the Face of Emerging Challenges that emphasizes cooperation in the economic and financial fields to support regional resilience in facing regional challenges, especially during the current pandemic.
