Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) managed to save potential state financial losses to the tune of Rp592.4 trillion during 2020.

"On account of the prevention efforts undertaken this year, the KPK has succeeded in saving the state from potential financial losses of Rp592.4 trillion through efforts to restore, control, and optimize assets," KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri told the media during a press conference on "Corruption Eradication Commission's Performance in 2020" broadcast on a YouTube account of the KPK on Wednesday.

Furthermore, the KPK deposited Non-Tax State Revenues (PNBP) into the state treasury worth Rp120.3 billion, comprising fines collected from corruption crimes amounting to Rp14 billion; money confiscated from corruption crimes reaching Rp54.4 billion, and compensation money of Rp19.8 billion accrued from corruption crimes.

"Some Rp.18.5 billion was confiscated from money laundering, Rp.3.3 billion from auction proceeds, Rp2.9 billion in gratuities, and Rp7 billion, giro services," he stated.

Bahuri also noted that in 2020, the KPK will receive a budget ceiling of Rp920.3 billion.

"As of December 21, 2020, the actual utilization of the KPK budget had reached 91.7 percent, or Rp843.8 billion," he stated.

The KPK chairman explained that budget realization was based on the type of disbursement utilized for personnel expenditure of Rp611.1 billion, Rp186.7 billion for goods, and Rp46.1 billion for capital.

"Budget absorption of each deputy is as follows: Secretariat General Rp711.4 billion (97 percent), Deputy for Information and Data Rp64.3 billion (80 percent), Deputy for Action Rp35.8 billion (72 percent), Deputy for Prevention Rp31.1 billion (61 percent), and the PIPM Deputy Rp1.2 billion (35 percent)," he added.
