Parents play crucial role in facilitating face-to-face learning

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the East Jakarta Region II Education Sub-Department, Putoyo, gauged that the role of parents remains crucial in the successful implementation of face-to-face learning trials at schools to commence on April 7, 2021.

"Hence, we have to look after our parents together. If there is a family member, who is sick, then there is no need to go (to school)," Putoyo remarked after observing the implementation of face-to-face learning trials at SDN Cipinang Melayu 8 here on Wednesday.

Putoyo believes that health protocols have been implemented optimally at schools by providing facilities, including sinks, hand washing, masks, and body temperature monitors.

"Here, isolation and coordination activities with the Community Health Center (Puskesmas) are additionally conducted once a school member is reported to have a high temperature," Putoyo remarked.

He noted that in region II of East Jakarta, 16 schools had participated in the face-to-face learning trial, comprising eight elementary schools, one junior high school, one high school, and six vocational schools.

"The trial (was conducted) on April 7-21. We will evaluate it, and the results will determine (the learning process) in future," he pointed out.

The DKI Jakarta Education Agency determined that 85 schools had met the trial criteria for face-to-face learning.

In the East Jakarta area, a total of 25 schools had participated in the face-to-face learning trial.

The elementary schools are SDN Tengah 07, SDN Baru 08, SDN Cipinang Melayu 08, SDN Penggilingan 05, SDN Pondok Kelapa 05, SDN Jati 01, SDN Bambu Apus 01, SD Panca Bhakti, and SDN Pulogadung 07.

Furthermore, SDN Tengah 06, SDN Ciracas 07, SDN Kelapa Dua Wetan 02, SMPN 217 Jakarta, SMP ST. Fransiskus II Jakarta, SMPN 236, SMA Cikal Amri, SMA Diponegoro 1, SMKS Islam PB Soedirman 2 Jakarta, and SMKS Budi Warman 2 Jakarta are the other schools.

SMKS Malaka Jakarta, SMKN 51 Jakarta, SMKN 22 Jakarta, SMKN 66 Jakarta, SMKS Insan Mulia Informatika, and MIS At Taqwa Pedurenan also participated in the face-to-face learning trial.
