Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Metropolitan Police have arrested a man suspected of trafficking 250 grams of crystal methamphetamine in Cengkareng, West Jakarta.



The suspected drug-trafficker, identified by his initials as FR, was arrested in Kapuk, Cengkareng, West Jakarta after police received a tip from the public, chief of the public relations division of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Yusri Yunus, disclosed on Monday.



After receiving the tip, police kept a watch on FR and arrested him on April 5, 2021, he said.



FR was taken to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Headquarters for intensive investigation, he added.



During the investigation, FR admitted to receiving an order from another person, identified by his initials as PY, to circulate the contraband.



Police have launched a manhunt for PY to uncover the drug ring, Yunus said.



If found guilty, FR could be sentenced to up to 20 years in jail, he added.
