Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), on Tuesday, summoned seven witnesses in a graft case related to the alleged procurement of goods for the COVID-19 pandemic emergency response at the West Bandung District Social Affairs Office.

"Today, (the KPK will investigate) witnesses in the alleged graft case pertaining to the procurement of goods for the COVID-19 pandemic emergency response at the West Bandung District Social Affairs Office in 2020. The investigation will take place at the Cimahi City Police," acting spokesman for the KPK Ali Fikri noted in a written statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The seven witnesses are section chief for the empowerment of poor at the social service office Dian Soehartini, director of CV Sentral Sayuran Garden City Yusup Sumarna, and five civil servants identified as Anni Roslianti, Siti Nurhayatil’s servants, Kresna Achmad Fathurrokhim, Asep Ilyas, and Tian Firmansyah.

The anti-graft agency has, until now, named the following suspects in the case: the West Bandung district head, identified by his initials as AUS; private party, identified by his initials as AW; and owners of PT Jagat Dir Gantara (JDG) and CV Sentral Sayuran Garden City Lembang (SSGCL) identified by his initials as MTG.

The case revolves around the reallocation of unforeseen funds in the 2020 district budget for handling the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through CV Jayakusuma Cipta Mandiri (JCM) and CV Satria Jakatamilung (SJ), AW secured a contract worth Rp36 billion for the procurement of foodstuffs for Social Safety Net Assistance (Bamsos JPS).

Meanwhile, MTG, through PT JDG and CV SSGCL, bagged a contract amounting to Rp15.8 billion for procuring foodstuffs for Banso JPS related to large-scale social restrictions (PSBB).

AUS is believed to have received Rp1 billion that MTG set aside from the value of every package of basic necessities bearing the AUS sticker.

MTG and AW are believed to reap profits of Rp2 billion and Rp2.7 billion respectively.

Furthermore, MTG also allegedly received Rp1 billion in gratification from various offices within the Bandung district administration and private companies conducting various projects in the district.
