Jakarta (ANTARA) - As many as 13,678,323 of the 40,349,049 Indonesians targeted under the first phase of the national immunization program have been vaccinated against COVID-19 so far, according to the COVID-19 task force.

Based on data collected by the task force, the number of vaccine recipients increased by 63,010 as of 12 a.m. local time on Wednesday (May 12, 2021).

Meanwhile, the number of vaccine recipients in the second phase of the vaccination program increased by 37,841 to reach 8,908,265.

In a separate development, secretary general of the Health Ministry, Oscar Primadi, said that in a survey conducted from January to March, 2021, 80.8 percent of the respondents expressed their willingness to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

"The survey, which was conducted from January 10 to March 31, 2021, shows good news. As many as 80.8 percent are willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine," he informed.

The survey was conducted by the University of Maryland, in partnership with Facebook, to measure the right policy formulation for the COVID-19 vaccine. Based on the report, the level of public doubt about getting vaccinated declined from 28.6 percent to 19.2 percent during the January-March period, Primadi said.

The report has shown that the vaccination program is running well and has succeeded in increasing the enthusiasm of participants for joining efforts to break the chain of COVID-19 transmission, he added. (INE)
