Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Assembly of the Forhati Muslim organization views the Israeli aggression against Palestinians during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr holiday as being disrespectful of Muslims and violating international law.

"Forhati strongly condemns the Israeli regime's violence against Palestinians and the annexation of Sheikh Jarrah, which comes under the jurisdiction of the Palestinian State," Forhati's Presidium Coordinator Hanifah Husein noted in a statement here on Saturday.

The attacks on Palestinian worshippers headed to welcome lailatulqadar, or the holy night, inside the Al Aqsa Mosque and in Gaza, led to the killings of hundreds of Muslims, especially children and women, deemed as brutal, radical, and terror acts that had robbed humanity and independence of the Palestinian people and nation, she remarked.

Israel must respect the rights of Palestinian people and Muslims across the world to worship at the Al Aqsa Mosque in the Al Quds area, the holy city of three religions -- Islam, Christianity, and Judaism -- while ensuring the safety and comfort of Muslim worshipers, she stated.

Forhati's National Assembly offers moral support and prayers for the struggle of the Palestinians, particularly for women, who consistently strive to maintain and defend the dignity of the Palestinian nation, Husein affirmed.

The organization also urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to act immediately to stop Israel's brutalities while attempting to seize the entire Palestinian territory to be part of the Greater Israel.

Forhati also urged the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take the initiative to mobilize support for Palestine from Islamic nations worldwide.

It also urged the Indonesian government to take the initiative in line with the principle of an independent and active foreign policy as well as to initiate a world peace movement based on justice, independence, and humanity.
