We welcome those, who are an online ojek driver and a provable partner as well as have the application installed as the partner, although they do not have the STRP
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Traffic Director of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo will prioritize online ojek (motorcycle taxi) drivers plying through barrier posts set up for emergency restrictions despite not holding a worker registration certificate (STRP).

"I have conveyed to all my members since yesterday, but I would like to emphasize again that today, we prioritize online ojek, so they can pass through the barrier posts," Yogo stated in Jakarta on Saturday.

He explained that online ojek partners can pass through barrier posts despite not having arranged for their STRP.

"We welcome those, who are an online ojek driver and a provable partner as well as have the application installed as the partner, although they do not have the STRP," He affirmed.

Yogo clarified that online ojek drivers can cross the checkpoint at any time on grounds that they are delivering food or goods or are picking up ride-hailers by showing evidence to the officer on guard.

"We know the online ojek attribute jackets are sold everywhere, and we cannot check one by one because thousands are wearing it. It is difficult to know whether he or she is really a partner or just wearing the attribute jacket to escape the barrier post," he pointed out.

Hence, he also sought help from the online ojek service providers to discipline their partners.

"We cannot check the online ojek drivers one by one. We are seeking sound cooperation from online ojek partners because sometimes there is a long queue at the checkpoint. Hence, please be patient," Yogo affirmed.

STRP, imposed by the provincial government of Jakarta, is a special certificate for workers from the essential and critical sectors. It is used during the enforcement of Emergency Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM), from July 3 to July 20, 2021, as an identity document during work.

The registration can be done online through jakevo.jakarta.go.id.

"The Investment Office and One-Stop Integrated Services (DPMPTSP) of DKI Jakarta has issued STRP for online ojek partners based on information technology, which is through a QR Code," Head of DPMPTSP, Benni, stated in Jakarta, Friday, July 16.

STRP for online ojek partners and online taxis was a collective endeavor of technology-based application providers in the field of land transportation to enable their partners to continue to work during the PPKM period in Jakarta.
