Currently, there are more houses built informally by the people.Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry has said that it will strengthen the One Million Houses Program (PSR) database in cooperation with several stakeholders.
"The program is one of our main programs to provide decent housing for the public," director general of housing at the PUPR Ministry, Khalawi Abdul Hamid, said in a written statement issued here on Wednesday.
He urged all stakeholders to monitor the progress of the program closely and educate the beneficiaries on housing regulations.
"Currently, there are more houses built informally by the people. The local governments are required to provide regulations to contain the problem. Meanwhile, the progress reports can be submitted every week to be monitored by the P2P Center," he said.
According to director of public housing and commercial at the PUPR Ministry, Fitrah Nur, the ministry is currently formulating a strategy to accelerate PSR data collection from all stakeholders.
The ministry is also seeking to speed up the collection of reports on the program's progress through the optimization of the PSR website by boosting server capacity, he added.
The P2P Centers will encourage local governments to carry out data collection, using the PSR website and regular reports, as well as publish information on social media about the program, he informed.
Furthermore, data will be synchronized with the working units of the Housing Funding Management Center (PPDPP), Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera) as well as Savings-Based Housing Funding Assistance (BP2BT), Nur said.
The ministry will also coordinate with other stakeholders -- the Social Affairs Ministry, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) forum, the National Alms Agency (Baznas), as well as developer associations, he informed.
"We also have field teams to directly conduct the data collection," he added.
